Basic Report Structure

  • Report Type: Free Form Exploration
  • Primary Dimension: Day of week

Steps to Create the Report

  1. Open GA4 and navigate to the Explore section.
  2. Click the Blank template to start a new exploration.
  3. Under the Dimensions, click the + button and search for Day of week, check the checkbox beside it, and click Import.
  4. Under the Metrics, click the + button and search for Total revenue, Average purchase revenue, and Transactions, check the checkboxes, and click Import.
  5. Drag Day of week to the Rows section.
  6. Drag Total revenue, Average purchase revenue, and Transactions to the Values section.
  7. Click the Plus icon in the Tabs section to add a new tab.
  8. Select Line chart visualization.
  9. Configure the same dimensions and metrics for the line chart.
  10. Set your date range to the last 3 months for meaningful patterns.
